What this sheet is for

When you are caring for someone at home day to day, costs arrive in small, scattered amounts that are easy to lose track of — a pack of incontinence pads here, a taxi to a clinic there. This sheet gives you a focused seven-day window so you can see exactly where money is going before it becomes a monthly surprise, and check each category against a realistic weekly limit.

How to use it

Write the week's start date in the Week of field. In each of the six category envelopes — Personal Care Supplies, Mobility and Safety Aids, Nutrition and Special Foods, Transport and Appointments, Hired Care Help, and Home Adaptations — fill in the Weekly budget line first, then log each purchase or payment under Item / Service and Cost as it happens. Use the remaining line at the foot of each envelope to see headroom at a glance. At the end of the week, carry each envelope's total down to the Weekly Totals strip and complete Total Budgeted, Total Spent, and Over / Under to get a full picture.

Tips

Set the Weekly budget for Hired Care Help first — it is usually the largest figure and anchors the other five limits.

Log Transport costs the same day as the appointment; it is easy to forget a return journey or parking fee by week's end.

If you consistently overspend one category, note the reason on the back — patterns help you renegotiate care plans or apply for allowances.
