What this sheet is for
This sheet is for children who need a structured nudge to stay active on school days. It turns the stretch between the end of school and dinner into a window for earning points. A parent and child agree on a reward in advance, fill in the goal line together, and the child takes ownership of logging each session as it happens.
How to use it
Start by writing the child's name and filling in the 'I am saving up for' line so the reward is visible every time the sheet is used. Refer to the 'Ways to earn points' menu to see which activities qualify and what each is worth. After any activity, the child fills in the Date, writes what they did under 'Activity done', records the Points earned, and updates the Running total. The ledger holds sixteen entries, covering roughly three weeks of weekday activity at a steady pace.
What is printed on the page
“After-School Move Points” is laid out as points ledger: a points menu of six tasks and their values in a box at the top, a name and saving-up-for line, then a sixteen-row ledger of date, task, points earned and running total. Under the title it reads “Log your daily activity and earn points toward a reward you choose.”, and the line at the foot of the page says “Aim to log at least five rows each week. If you miss a day, note the reason and keep going.”.
The menu items slot holds six entries — “Walk or bike to school — 3 pts”, “10-min jog or run — 4 pts”, “15-min skipping or jumping jacks — 3 pts”, “30-min sport or swim session — 6 pts”, “Stretch or cool-down routine — 2 pts” and “Active play outside, 20+ min — 3 pts” — so the sheet is already filled in for fitness rather than left as blank rows to label yourself.
The remaining labels on “After-School Move Points”, the fitness sheet, are “Name” for the name label, “I am saving up for” for the goal prompt, “Ways to earn points” for the menu heading, “Date” for the date heading, “Activity done” for the task heading, “Points” for the points heading and “Running total” for the total heading.
Two things about this particular points ledger are settings rather than text, and “After-School Move Points” has them set like this. Menu box is on: include the points menu box at the top. Goal line is on: include the saving-up-for line beside the name.
Tips
Pin the chart at eye level near the door so the child sees it immediately after arriving home from school.
Count only activities that last the full stated time; a timer on the kitchen counter removes any guesswork.
Let the child pick the reward before the chart starts — ownership of the goal keeps motivation steady across all sixteen rows.
The other layouts in this set
“After-School Move Points” is one of three sheets in this set, each a different fixed layout filled for the same topic. “Kids Active Week Chart” uses the star grid layout and “30 Workouts Done” uses the single goal layout. Pick by how you work: the layout decides how much you write and where, not what the sheet is about.
