What this sheet is for

This sheet is for the teacher who has back-to-back lessons and needs a single place to anchor the day's instructional priorities. Reach for it first thing in the morning, after you have glanced at your timetable, to decide which lesson carries the most weight today and what absolutely cannot slip — whether that is returning a marked assessment, covering a mandated curriculum point, or running a catch-up group.

How to use it

Write the lesson or class that demands your best focus in the large box at the top under 'The one lesson I must teach well today.' Fill in the three 'Non-Negotiables Today' lines with instructional tasks that must happen — specific activities, assessments due, or curriculum targets. Use the 'If Time Allows' checkboxes for useful but deferrable tasks such as updating a seating plan or preparing next week's resources. Tick the five 'Daily Teacher Habits' as you complete them throughout the day. Use the ruled 'Lesson Notes and Tweaks' area to jot real-time observations about pacing, student understanding, or anything to adjust before you teach the same content again.

What is printed on the page

“Lesson Delivery Day Planner” is laid out as focus page: a large single-focus box across the top, three numbered must-dos and six could-do checkboxes on the left, a five-habit checklist and a notes area on the right. Under the title it reads “Plan, track and reflect on every lesson you teach today.”, and the line at the foot of the page says “If a lesson ran poorly, note one specific change before you leave the room — memory fades fast.”.

The habit labels slot holds five entries — “Posted learning objectives”, “Checked prior knowledge”, “Used exit ticket / check”, “Marked one set of work” and “Tidied board & resources” — so the sheet is already filled in for teacher rather than left as blank rows to label yourself.

The remaining labels on the page are “Date / Period” for the date label, “The one lesson I must teach well today” for the focus prompt, “Non-Negotiables Today” for the must heading, “If Time Allows” for the could heading, “Daily Teacher Habits” for the habits heading and “Lesson Notes & Tweaks” for the notes heading.

Two things about this particular focus page are settings rather than text, and “Lesson Delivery Day Planner” has them set like this. Habits row is on: include the five-habit checklist. Ruled notes is on: rule the notes area with writing lines instead of leaving it blank.

Tips

Write your Non-Negotiables before students arrive — once lessons start, reactive demands crowd out planned priorities.

Use the Lesson Notes area during a transition or break, not at day's end, so observations remain accurate.

If the same could-do item carries over three days running, move it to your Non-Negotiables or drop it entirely.

The other layouts in this set

“Lesson Delivery Day Planner” is one of three sheets in this set, each a different fixed layout filled for the same topic. “Teacher's Classroom Day Planner” uses the time-blocked day layout and “Parent Communication Daily Log” uses the three sections layout. Pick by how you work: the layout decides how much you write and where, not what the sheet is about.
