Baby Milestone Day Planner
Daily planner for tracking infant milestones, development activities, and care appointments, designed for parents of newborns to six-month-olds.
The PDF is built on your device from the layout and the text above; nothing is uploaded. If the preview does not display, the download buttons still work.
What this sheet is for
The weeks after birth move fast and blur together. This sheet gives a parent or carer one place to hold the day's developmental focus — a first smile, a new sound, a physio exercise — alongside the practical tasks that still need doing. It suits any day when a health check, vaccination, or deliberate play session makes the day feel purposeful rather than purely reactive.
How to use it
Write today's date and baby's age in weeks at the top right. Use the large 'One thing to observe or try with baby today' box to name your developmental focus — a specific game, a position, a sound to listen for. Under 'Must happen today' list the three non-negotiables: an appointment, a medication, a call to the midwife. The 'Could do today' boxes hold optional but worthwhile tasks like reading a board book or doing a massage routine. Tick off the five 'Daily care checklist' items as the day goes on, and use the ruled 'Observations and concerns' area to note anything to raise at the next appointment.
What is printed on the page
“Baby Milestone Day Planner” is laid out as focus page: a large single-focus box across the top, three numbered must-dos and six could-do checkboxes on the left, a five-habit checklist and a notes area on the right. Under the title it reads “Track today's development wins, appointments, and infant care tasks in one place.”, and the line at the foot of the page says “Note the exact time and context of any new skill — rolling, reaching, babbling — so you can share it accurately with your health visitor.”.
The habit labels slot holds five entries — “Tummy time done”, “Vitamin D drops given”, “Weight / growth noted”, “Talked or read aloud” and “Bath or top-and-tail” — so the sheet is already filled in for baby rather than left as blank rows to label yourself.
The remaining labels on the page are “Date / Age (weeks)” for the date label, “One thing to observe or try with baby today” for the focus prompt, “Must happen today” for the must heading, “Could do today” for the could heading, “Daily care checklist” for the habits heading and “Observations & concerns” for the notes heading.
Two things about this particular focus page are settings rather than text, and “Baby Milestone Day Planner” has them set like this. Habits row is on: include the five-habit checklist. Ruled notes is on: rule the notes area with writing lines instead of leaving it blank.
Tips
Write the milestone focus before the day starts, not at the end — it shapes how attentively you watch baby.
Use 'Must happen today' for any time-sensitive medical task, such as giving oral vitamin K or a prescribed medication dose.
In the notes area, record the setting and baby's mood alongside any new skill — context helps the health visitor interpret the information.
The other layouts in this set
“Baby Milestone Day Planner” is one of three sheets in this set, each a different fixed layout filled for the same topic. “Newborn Daily Care Log” uses the time-blocked day layout and “Baby Feed & Sleep Planner” uses the three sections layout. Pick by how you work: the layout decides how much you write and where, not what the sheet is about.
