Who this sheet is for

This sheet is for someone doing a deliberate, focused pantry restock over the course of one week — setting a budget target and hitting specific stores or sections each day. Where the 'Weekly Grocery Run Planner' handles routine day-to-day shopping with per-item columns, this format suits a planned restocking effort with daily free-form notes and a closing review.

What this sheet is for

This sheet is for the person who shops across multiple days or stores rather than in one big weekly trip — someone restocking dried goods, freezer staples, and household basics in deliberate stages. It gives each day its own box for jotting which store, which section, and what was spent, so nothing falls through the cracks between visits.

How to use it

Start by filling in This Week's Targets at the top: set a total budget, name one staple you need to fully restock, and list the stores you plan to visit. Each day box follows the Store, Section, Item, Cost prompt — write only what applies to that day's trip. Leave a day blank if you are not shopping. At the end of the week, use the End-of-Week Review to compare actual spend against your budget and flag any staple that ran low without warning, so it gets added to your standing pantry list.

What is printed on the page

“Pantry Restock Week” is laid out as day boxes with goals: three goal lines across the top, seven boxed days in a 4 + 3 grid with a faint hint in each, and a two-prompt review box at the bottom. Under the title it reads “Track what to buy, where to buy it, and what you spend each day.”, and the line at the foot of the page says “Check your pantry before each store visit — duplicates waste money and shelf space.”.

The goal prompts slot holds three entries — “Total budget (L / oz / units)”, “One staple to fully restock” and “Store or stores to visit” — so the sheet is already filled in for grocery rather than left as blank rows to label yourself.

The review prompts slot holds two entries — “Did you stay within budget? Note the difference.” and “Which staple ran out unexpectedly — add to standing list?” — so the sheet is already filled in for grocery rather than left as blank rows to label yourself.

The remaining labels on “Pantry Restock Week”, the grocery sheet, are “Week of” for the week label, “This Week's Targets” for the goals heading, “Store · Section · Item · Cost” for the cell hint and “End-of-Week Review” for the review heading.

Two things about this particular day boxes with goals are settings rather than text, and “Pantry Restock Week” has them set like this. Start sunday is off: start the week on Sunday instead of Monday. Review box is on: include the review box at the bottom.

Tips

Write the store name first in each day box before you leave home, so the box stays focused on one trip.

Use the staple goal line for bulk items — grains, oil, canned goods — that need replacing less often than fresh produce.

Tally each day's cost in the corner of the box; the running total makes the review box quick to complete.

The other layouts in this set

“Pantry Restock Week” is one of three sheets in this set, each a different fixed layout filled for the same topic. “Weekly Grocery Run Planner” uses the seven-row week layout and “Grocery Spend Tracker” uses the weekly tracker table layout. Pick by how you work: the layout decides how much you write and where, not what the sheet is about.

Step by step

  1. Fill in the 'Week of' field, then use the three 'This Week's Targets' prompts to set your total budget, name one staple to fully restock, and list the stores you plan to visit.
  2. Each morning, use that day's box to jot the store, section, item, and cost — following the 'Store · Section · Item · Cost' hint printed in each cell.
  3. Work through the 4 + 3 day grid across the week, adding notes as each store visit happens.
  4. At week's end, answer both 'End-of-Week Review' prompts: note whether you stayed within budget, and name any staple that ran out unexpectedly.

Example entry

'Week of' October 14. 'Total budget': $120. 'One staple to fully restock': canned tomatoes. 'Store or stores to visit': Costco, local grocery. Wednesday box: Costco · Canned goods · Diced tomatoes ×6 · $8.99. 'End-of-Week Review' — stayed $4 under budget; rice ran out unexpectedly — add to standing list.

Questions about this sheet

Will this print correctly on a standard home printer?

Yes, the sheet is designed for US Letter size (8.5 × 11 inches) and prints in portrait orientation on any home inkjet or laser printer.

How is this different from the Weekly Grocery Run Planner on the site?

This sheet is built around a single concentrated restock effort, with goal-setting at the top and a review at the bottom. The Weekly Grocery Run Planner gives you structured columns for items, section, and estimated cost across routine daily shopping trips.

Can I use the daily boxes for more than one store visit on the same day?

Yes — the cell hint 'Store · Section · Item · Cost' can be repeated in the same box, one line per store, as space allows.
