Who this sheet is for
This sheet suits a gardener who is managing several distinct growing areas at once — raised beds, containers, a greenhouse, a lawn, and seedling trays — and wants a single place to confirm each area was watered or fed on each day of one week.
What this sheet is for
Watering by memory is one of the most common causes of patchy results in the garden. This sheet gives you a single place to record which beds and containers were watered or fed on each day of the week. It is most useful during dry spells, when plants are establishing, or when more than one person tends the garden and you need a shared record.
How to use it
Write the current week in the Week of field, then label each Bed / Container row with your actual bed names or plant groups — for example 'Tomatoes, south wall' or 'Herbs, terracotta pots'. Check the checkbox for a bed on any day you water or feed it. Use the Days Done column at the end of the week to see which areas are being over- or under-attended. Jot the product name and dilution rate under Fertilizer Used This Week, and flag any beds showing stress or waterlogging under Drought / Overwater Concerns.
What is printed on the page
“Weekly Watering & Feeding Log” is laid out as weekly tracker table: eight labelled rows against seven day columns of checkboxes, an optional totals column, and two short note sections underneath. Under the title it reads “Track irrigation, fertilizer, and soil moisture across all beds, day by day.”, and the line at the foot of the page says “Note water volume (L / oz) and fertilizer dilution rate in the margin so you can repeat what worked.”.
The row labels slot holds eight entries — “Raised bed 1 (label here)”, “Raised bed 2 (label here)”, “Raised bed 3 (label here)”, “Containers — edibles” and “Containers — ornamentals” and three more — so the sheet is already filled in for garden rather than left as blank rows to label yourself.
The remaining labels on “Weekly Watering & Feeding Log”, the garden sheet, are “Week of” for the week label, “Bed / Container” for the row heading, “Days done” for the total heading, “Fertilizer used this week” for the notes heading a and “Drought / overwater concerns” for the notes heading b.
Two things about this particular weekly tracker table are settings rather than text, and “Weekly Watering & Feeding Log” has them set like this. Start sunday is off: start the week on Sunday instead of Monday. Totals column is on: add a totals column at the right of the table.
Tips
Use a single check for water only and a circled check for feed days, so you can separate the two at a glance.
Fill in Days Done on Sunday; any bed scoring below three in hot weather likely needs a revised irrigation routine.
Record rainfall in the margin on days you skip watering, so the blank checkbox has a clear reason behind it.
The other layouts in this set
“Weekly Watering & Feeding Log” is one of three sheets in this set, each a different fixed layout filled for the same topic. “Vegetable Bed Weekly Log” uses the seven-row week layout and “Sow & Plant Week Planner” uses the day boxes with goals layout. Pick by how you work: the layout decides how much you write and where, not what the sheet is about.
Step by step
- Write the date in the 'Week of' field before the week begins.
- Label each 'Bed / Container' row to match your actual growing areas — for example, write 'Tomatoes' next to 'Raised bed 1 (label here)'.
- Check the checkbox for each bed on each day column after you water or feed it.
- At week's end, count the checked boxes in each row and record the number under 'Days done'.
- Write the fertilizer product and dilution in 'Fertilizer used this week,' and note any beds that looked dry or waterlogged in 'Drought / overwater concerns.'
Example entry
'Week of' June 9. 'Raised bed 1 (label here)' labeled Tomatoes — boxes checked Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday. 'Days done' = 4. 'Fertilizer used this week': liquid tomato feed, 5 mL per liter, applied Wednesday. 'Drought / overwater concerns': Containers — ornamentals looked dry by Thursday; may need daily checks in hot weather.
Questions about this sheet
What paper size should I print this on?
The sheet is sized for US Letter (8.5 × 11 inches), which fits any standard home printer without adjusting settings.
I have more than three raised beds — can I adapt the row labels?
Yes. The 'Raised bed' rows each include a '(label here)' prompt, so you can write your own name in any row and use rows intended for other areas if your setup differs.
How often should I start a new sheet?
The table covers exactly seven days, so one sheet per week keeps your records aligned with a calendar week and makes it easy to compare weeks side by side.
