What this sheet is for

This chart is for students who need to make studying feel concrete and countable. It works best when the habit itself is the target — not a single subject or assignment, but the act of sitting down to study regularly. Reach for it at the start of a new term, before an exam block, or whenever study sessions have become irregular and need a visible push.

How to use it

Write the student's name at the top, then fill in My Study Goal This Term — keep it specific, such as 'Study every weekday after school'. Each time a genuine study session is completed, colour or stamp one of the 30 numbered circles from left to right. The double rings at circles 10, 20 and 30 mark the Milestone Rewards checkpoints; when a ringed circle is filled, claim the reward written on the matching Milestone Rewards line. Once all 30 circles are filled, collect the big reward written in the box at the foot of the page.

What is printed on the page

“30 Study Sessions Star Chart” is laid out as single goal: one goal written large at the top, thirty big numbered circles in three rows of ten with milestone rings at 10, 20 and 30, three milestone reward lines and a big-reward box at the foot. Under the title it reads “Colour a circle every time you sit down and study — watch your sessions add up.”, and the line at the foot of the page says “Even 20 minutes of focused work counts. Sit down, start the timer, earn your circle.”.

The milestone labels slot holds three entries — “10 sessions: Choose tonight's dinner”, “20 sessions: One hour of free-choice screen time” and “30 sessions: Big reward below” — so the sheet is already filled in for study rather than left as blank rows to label yourself.

The remaining labels on “30 Study Sessions Star Chart”, the study sheet, are “Name” for the name label, “My study goal this term” for the goal prompt, “Milestone Rewards” for the milestones heading and “My big reward at 30 sessions” for the reward prompt.

Two things about this particular single goal are settings rather than text, and “30 Study Sessions Star Chart” has them set like this. Milestone rings is on: draw a double ring around circles 10, 20 and 30. Reward box is on: include the big-reward box at the foot.

Tips

Agree on a minimum session length before starting — 20 to 30 minutes works for most school-age students.

Let the student colour the circle immediately after finishing; the physical act reinforces the sense of completion.

Keep the chart somewhere the student passes daily — on a bedroom door or above the desk — not inside a folder.

The other layouts in this set

“30 Study Sessions Star Chart” is one of three sheets in this set, each a different fixed layout filled for the same topic. “Homework & Revision Star Chart” uses the star grid layout and “Exam Revision Points Chart” uses the points ledger layout. Pick by how you work: the layout decides how much you write and where, not what the sheet is about.
